Antoine, Detroit, Michigan Sexual assault is extremely common among college students. At least half of these sexual assaults involve alcohol consumption by the perpetrator, the victim or both. Although existing research addresses some important questions, there are many gaps. Methodological limitations of past research are noted, and suggestions are made for future research. In addition, recommendations are made for college prevention programs and policy initiatives.

BUCK, M. This work was supported by a grant to Dr. Conservative estimates of sexual assault prevalence suggest that 25 percent of American women have experienced sexual assault, including rape. Approximately one-half of those cases involve alcohol consumption by the perpetrator, victim, or both. Alcohol contributes to sexual assault through multiple pathways, often exacerbating existing risk factors.

The purpose of the organization was to bring attention to the issue of violence against women as well as to establish the first helpline and services for female survivors of domestic violence in Russia. ANNA provides free psychological and legal aid to victims of violence against women.
